Hello people of the world!
Coming towards the end of your schooling can be quite a scary experience for most people. For SOME of us here in Aussie Land, we have something called HSC (Higher School Certificate). Which is what I am currently completing.
I'm not going to lie, but I am I a COMPLETLE stress head! I stress over the littlest things. I am also a HUGE procrastinator, just like the majority of you's. Like right now, I should be doing my assignment but I'm here blogging (don't do that! It's bad).
However I have a few tips for getting through the HSC or your final year in schooling. So I hope they come in handy for some of you guys!
1) START EARLY! - by this I mean that you should start your study notes ASAP! I was the type of person who would make study notes the day before the exam and then chuck tantrums because nothing was making sense. When in fact is my OWN fault! Make sure your studies notes are easy to read and are not just dot points with long sentences. Do them continuously as you proceed through the year and you will find that you will start to build a pattern.
2) HIGHLIGHT, HIGHLIGHT, HIGHLIGHT! - this is very vital during your final year of schooling. Instead of going through and reading all your chunks of information when you are studying or doing an assignment, when you teacher has something written in bold highlight it as it is for sure an important piece of information. If you find something interesting, worthwhile or you think you will forget then don't think twice and just HIGHLIGHT it! There is nothing worse than not knowing what pieces of information is important. I have never highlighted so much in my life!
3) GET YOUR ASSIGNMENTS CHECKED BY YOUR TEACHER BEFORE HANDING THEM IN!- when you receive and assignment and finish it early enough before the due date, make sure you get your assignment checked and edited by your teacher so they can pick and point out any silly
mistakes or points you have missed. Again, it would be a pain in the butt if after you gave in your assignment and received a mark which wasn't your best because of all the silly mistakes. This can help you in achieving the best grades before your teacher even marks the whole classes assignment.
4) ASK QUESTIONS!- you know those times in class when you just sit there like "wtf is going on? I DONT GET IT!" And then you just kind of let it go and then when it comes to your exams or assignments you stress? Ya? Well that was me once upon a time. Instead of learning it the hard way, just ASK your teacher and they will be more than happy to help you. If you are embarrassed to ask in front of everyone then meet up with your teacher later or wait until class has finished. Remember, teachers can't read minds, so if you don't ask, then they won't know that you DONT KNOW! They will not eat you.
Well I hope that these little pieces of advice have helped you I some way with your schooling life. So if you are supposed to be studying right now (Yes you should be Pritika!) then try using these techniques whilst you are studying and in class and go and DO YOUR BEST! :)
