Disgusted about Napoleon Perdis

Hello People of the world!!

Now what I am about to blog about is not very nice and it may be very confronting for some of you guys, however I have to post this since I DO use the brand Napoleon Perdis. When I started my blog, one of my posts was about a mascara and lipstick from Napoleon Perdis and how I have also had my makeup done there and did praise them  about their work. Here- Napoleon Perdies Baby!!!

However, whilst in Business studies today, I was told some shocking news about Napoleon Perdis and also many other well known cosmetic brand names.

For those of you who use makeup (foundation especially) there is an element in the makeup called "Mica" (m-y-c-a). This is what gives your makeup 'shine' especially nail polish and eye shadow. Just like most businesses, their resources for their products come from other countries and labour done by other people. Hence, the mica used in Napoleon Perdis makeup comes from India mined by children who get payed about 8 cents per kilo! Which means about 80 cents a day if they fill 10 kilos. This news is ridiculous and disgusting. When asked about this issue by a spokesperson from Napoleon Perdis, they did not share anything at all.

It is really upsetting to hear this sort of news from such a well known company. Kids who do the mining say they do this to help their family. The pay for this is just pathetic and I believe this news should be pubicised more.

Please share this post! We need to create awareness about this issue as it is really filthy, unethical, disgusting and just utterly wrong!

Here is the article of this issue for more in depth information. India's mica mines

Please do show some care and support  towards these little children.

My little huge obsession with the City of Dreams..... LONDON!

Hello people of the world!!!

Now we all have a city or place which is very close to our hearts whether we have been there or not, it might even be where you live right now.
Even though I live in one of the worlds most loved country, Australia I have a little huge obsession with the city of London. Well, you can say everything British!

I have never been there but I would love to visit the place and hopefully move there. I am hoping to go at the end of this year or the beginning of next year but that is only if I get a good ATAR -.-
Anyways, well a lot of people always ask me why I love London so much and so I have a few reasons why. So I thought that I should share them with you for some odd reason.

1) I fell in love with London when I was about 4 years old after watching my first ever Indian movie- Kabhi Khushi Khabi Gum (no other move can beat this movie!) I thought when I watched this movie and still do until now that I will find someone like Hrithik Roshan (one of the main characters of the movie and secretly my husband) in London. I will okay.

2) I think the place looks FLAWLESSLY GORGEOUS! I love all the buildings and the way the streets are and the houses and OMG!

3) I love the COLD! I love the cold weather better than summer. Thus I love London since it is always raining and cold and beautiful. I known a lot of people who don't like London because of the weather but I simply have no problem.

4) ACCENTS! If I had a British accent I would not shut up. I think this  reason is pretty self explanatory.

5) One Direction.  This one is also pretty much self explanatory.

So those are some of the reasons why I love the city of London. Have a look at some of these photos and I hope you also fall in love with the amazing city.

Wot? Last year of schooling? Ummm? But I'm still a kid :(

Hello people of the world!

Coming towards the end of your schooling can be quite a scary experience for most people. For SOME of us here in Aussie Land, we have something called HSC (Higher School Certificate). Which is what I am currently completing.

I'm not going to lie, but I am I a COMPLETLE stress head! I stress over the littlest things. I am also a HUGE procrastinator, just like the majority of you's. Like right now, I should be doing my assignment but I'm here blogging (don't do that! It's bad).

However I have a few tips for getting through the HSC or your final year in schooling. So I hope they come in handy for some of you guys!

1) START EARLY! -  by this I mean that you should start your study notes ASAP! I was the type of person who would make study notes the day before the exam and then chuck tantrums because nothing was making sense. When in fact is my OWN fault! Make sure your studies notes are easy to read and are not just dot points with long sentences. Do them continuously as you proceed through the year and you will find that you will start to build a pattern.

2) HIGHLIGHT, HIGHLIGHT, HIGHLIGHT! - this is very vital during your final year of schooling. Instead of going through and reading all your chunks of information when you are studying or doing an assignment, when you teacher has something written in bold highlight it as it is for sure an important piece of information. If you find something interesting, worthwhile or you think you will forget then don't think twice and just HIGHLIGHT it! There is nothing worse than not knowing what pieces of information is important. I have never highlighted so much in my life!

3) GET YOUR ASSIGNMENTS CHECKED BY YOUR TEACHER BEFORE HANDING THEM  IN!- when you receive and assignment and finish it early enough before the due date, make sure you get your assignment checked and edited by your teacher so they can pick and point out any silly

mistakes or points you have missed. Again, it would be a pain in the butt if after you gave in your assignment and received a mark which wasn't your best because of all the silly mistakes. This can help you in achieving the best grades before your teacher even marks the whole classes assignment.

4) ASK QUESTIONS!- you know those times in class when you just sit there like "wtf is going on? I DONT GET IT!" And then you just kind of let it go and then when it comes to your exams or assignments you stress? Ya? Well that was me once upon a time. Instead of learning it the hard way, just ASK your teacher and they will be more than happy to help you. If you are embarrassed to ask in front of everyone then meet up with your teacher later or wait until class has finished. Remember, teachers can't read minds, so if you don't ask, then they won't know that you DONT KNOW! They will not eat you.

Well I hope that these little pieces of advice have helped you I some way with your schooling life. So if you are supposed  to be studying right now (Yes you should be Pritika!) then try using these techniques whilst you are studying and in class and go and DO YOUR BEST! :)
